However, he’s not the highest selection… Boyd Dowler (Cheyenne Central) went 25th overall, 3rd round, in the 1959 NFL draft; Jerry Hill (Lingle) went ninth overall, 2nd round, in the 1961 AFL draft.

(BTW, Hill never played in the AFL. He was also drafted 35th overall in the NFL draft by Baltimore and played with the Colts for 10 years.)
