Some thoughts on the 1A-2A basketball regionals/state weeks I posted to @wyominghoops on Twitter a few days ago:
A thread of takeaways from this weekend’s 2A-1A regional finishes and state matchups:

Some interesting favorites emerged from the 2A girls regionals this weekend. Rocky Mountain (West) and Moorcroft (East) each won their second regional/district title in school history, Rocky’s first since 1991 and Moorcroft’s first since 1980. https://t.co/oVOpc9HiLp

An oddity in the 2A girls bracket: Three first-round games (Rocky-Glenrock, Sundance-Riverside and Moorcroft-St. Stephens) match up two teams that have never played each other at state. The fourth (Wyo Indian-Tongue River) are playing each other for the 14th time at state.

Also of note in 2A are the Shoshoni boys, who made state for the first time since 1997. That success breaks one of the longest active state tournament droughts in Wyoming at 24 years. https://t.co/8V7UW5OeAC

In 1A, the Upton boys @Upton_BB qualified for their 12th consecutive state tournament, continuing the longest active streak in the state. Kaycee’s boys run of 11 straight state tourneys, though, ended; Kaycee had been tied with Upton for the longest active streak.

The Kaycee girls reached their 17th straight state 1A tournament, second-longest active streak behind @EastLadyTBirds.
