The North squad won its seventh consecutive Shrine Bowl on Saturday, beating the South 29-19 in the 2019 version of the annual all-star football game.

Big Horn’s Kade VanDyken, who finished with 156 receiving yards to end up 12 yards short of the Shrine Bowl record, was named the game’s offensive MVP.

Rawlins’ Damon Taylor was the defensive MVP. He led all defensive players with 10 solo tackles.

The seven-game winning streak for the North is the longest winning streak of either team in Shrine Bowl history. The second-longest streak is the North’s five consecutive victories from 1998-2002, the South’s five straight from 1993-97 and the North’s five straight from 1980-84.

Money raised from Saturday’s game goes to the Shriners Hospital for Children in Salt Lake City.

The 2019 Shrine Bowl all-star football game will be today (Saturday) in Casper.

The annual game between the North and South teams will start at 2 p.m. The North leads the all-time series 24-18-3 and has won six Shrine Bowl games in a row. The rosters for the teams include:

The rosters of 36 players have been set for both the South and North squads in advance of the 46th annual Shrine Bowl all-star football game.

The game will be June 8 in Casper.

Shrine Bowl executive director Frank Selby announced the teams in a release on Monday. Rosters include:

The assistant coaches have been chosen for the 2019 Wyoming Shrine Bowl.

A release from Shrine Bowl executive director Frank Selby on Tuesday said the staffs were set by the head coaches of the respective teams. Together, the staffs will pick players for their rosters, which should be set in the next few weeks.

The South team, with head coach Aaron Makelky from Big Piney, will have Matt Cornelius (Lingle), Dustin Gochenour (Cheyenne Central), Mark Lenhardt (Torrington) Jeff Makelky (Big Piney) and Ryan Nelson (Lusk) as part of its coaching staff.

Meanwhile, North team head coach Rob Hammond of Buffalo will have Matt Jensen (Meeteetse), Kirk McLaughlin (Big Horn), Aaron Papich (Powell), Trent Pikula (Thunder Basin) and Ross Walker (Buffalo) on his staff.

The 46th annual all-star football game is June 8 in Casper.

The North continued its recent streak of dominance in the Wyoming Shrine Bowl, using two second-half touchdowns to beat the South 13-7 Saturday in the 45th annual all-star football game in Casper.

Aaron Sessions of Sheridan, whose 84-yard interception return for a touchdown in the third quarter gave the North its first points, was named the game’s defensive MVP.

Riley Hill of Greybull, who scored the game-winning touchdown with a 1-yard quarterback sneak in the fourth quarter, was the offensive MVP. He completed six of eight passes for 72 yards and also ran for 22 yards.

Star Valley’s Josh Dawson scored the lone touchdown for the South on an 8-yard run in the first quarter.

The North won the Shrine Bowl for the sixth consecutive year. The North leads the all-time series 24-18-3.

The wait is over for the Shrine Bowl annual all-star football game.

The 45th annual game between Wyoming’s best graduating high school football players, organized into North and South teams, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Cheney Alumni Field in Casper.

The North has won five consecutive Shrine Bowls and won last year’s game 49-7. The North leads the all-time series 23-18-3. Scores of previous Shrine Bowl games are available here.

Green River’s Candon Croft will play in this year’s Shrine Bowl for the South squad.

Executive director John Cundall announced late Wednesday via email that Croft will play in the annual all-star football game, replacing Star Valley’s Noah Hutchinson.

The game is June 9 in Casper.

Worland’s JR Hofmann will join the North squad for this year’s Shrine Bowl.
