Schools with artificial turf fields
Just a little random checklist to make sure I have all of the schools with turf fields accounted for. If any are missing, let me know.
Big Horn
Cody
Douglas
Jackson
Moorcroft
Natrona
Pinedale
Powell (next year’s new field)
Riverton
Rock Springs
Sheridan
Star Valley
That makes 12 total. Anyone I am forgetting?

Patrick,
I brought this up in our broadcasts this year for the Braves, we only played two games out of nine on natural grass, one in Snake River (Blackfoot) Idaho and Worland. Because of this, I actually thought that there were more schools than this who had turf. Looking at the 2012 schedule, that should still hold true for us. We go to Lander who still has grass, but Powell is a conversion so I think the Tigers and Green River will be our only grass games unless the playoffs take us elsewhere. I’d be interested to know if anyone else is making that decision to go to turf and is currently in the process.

I’ve had multiple sources, including former athletics director Duane Schopp, tell me that Central is getting an artificial surface over the summer. This is LONG overdue. Both Riske and Okie were/are badly in need of a major overhaul.

It won’t be long for more. If schools were smart they would turf-No paint, no water, no mowing!
Don’t forget that Kelly Walsh has the two fields off of 12th street. That is going to be a real nice facility when all is done.

Wow and the only thing I wanted in MV was lights…

Mountain View wouldn’t know what to do if they got to play under lights. You could have certainly ran trap better in the dark, with dark uniforms.

Think we ran it pretty good with or without lights…

Soon to be Niobrara county high school. Constructing has already started. Should be up by the first home game.
