The selection process has got to be an arduous task, to say the least. I’m proud of the three Evanston Red Devils represented, and only hope Scott Davis, as an alternate, finds his way onto the team. I thought Scott was equally deserving.
The Shrine Bowl is for a great cause, not to mention an experience which will never be forgotten by all who take part. I hope it continues in its rich and successful tradition.
Shrine Bowl is always a point of contention because of the selection process. Many worthy kids get left off the list due to position, number of the players from any one school, or class, also coach preferences play a huge role…head coaches and assistants have preference to their own players. Those of you who may feel slighted please remember this game is first and foremost a fundraiser.

Notice that on the roster the head coach for the north that his son is on the roster??? Make the right freaking choices people.
I don’t think that’s a problem. Said player was twice a Super 25 first team choice, twice all-state, a starter at QB since his first game as a freshman…. Nepotism alone can’t account for that.
