Drew Severn will be Cheyenne Central’s new football coach, pending school board approval.
Severn, who played football and wrestled at the University of Wyoming, was an assistant football coach at Burns and an assistant wrestling coach at Central, and also previously coached in Arizona, a school news release said.
Severn takes over for Brick Cegelski, who went 85-87 in 18 years as head coach.

Central interviewed 7 finalists for football job Friday. I know names of 3. Two were Central alums. Another has local ties. #wyosports

couldn’t have picked a finer person to lead the young men of central hs. my husband dave and I sent you our best back in 2001! you will not regret your choice.
There were extremely fine candidates that applied for the position. Some of them were well qualified with stellar winning records. They were tried and proven championship coaches that could have done an amazing job, however in the end they already knew who they were going to choose and it was a less experienced science teacher. The administration wasted the time of very fine, battle tested, men of honor.
Drew is a man of honer and has coached football and played football at a high level. He was deserving of this position and will do a fine job. If you want to slam the administration have at it but do not slam the man.
honor my dad
So mad I can’t spell or type. You get my meaning.
