A pair of new coaches are taking over programs in the Bighorn Basin (Lovell Chronicle). Tim Winland returns to take the top spot for the Rocky Mountain program, while Doug Hazen takes over for Ken Boatwright in Lovell, becoming the Bulldogs’ third coach in three years.

While it looks like 4A retained all of its coaches from 2008 to 2009, there has been some movement at the lower levels. Both Hanna and Guernsey changed coaches, as well, and Thermopolis was also searching for a new coach but I haven’t heard how that search ended up.

Does anyone else know about any new coaching changes around the state?

So am I to understand that two a days have started and Thermop doesn’t have a head coach?! Are there assistants working with the kids now. I sure hope those boys have someone working with them

I’m pretty sure Thermop made a hire, I just don’t know (or can’t remember) who. I know there was some fallout earlier this year from when a coach was hired, then the offer was retracted, but I haven’t heard much since. Don’t know the specifics; can anyone from Hot Springs County fill us in on who’s leading the Bobcats this fall?

I had heard they hired the coach out of Spearfish, SD. Hope someone is there. Come on Hot Springs, fill us in

Got a name: Chuck Syverson. Here’s his leaving Spearfish story:

    Good luck coach!

Anyone else know of any other changes?

One more coaching change to report: Matt Conzelman is the new head coach at Newcastle. He replaces Mike Gregory, who stepped down after 10 seasons. Gregory is still in Newcastle as the guidance counselor and assistant wrestling coach. Conzelman had been an assistant with the Dogies. Thanks to David at KASL 1240 AM for the info!
