Big Horn’s new football field is progressing fast… but not fast enough to get today’s game against Glenrock at “home.” Today’s game has been moved over to the Normative Services field and the kickoff will be at 3 p.m. (I realize I’m making this post at 2:51 p.m., which may not do much good to the folks already on the road. Sorry!)
You can check out the progress of the field through our friends at Sheridan Media, who reported that the field’s new synthetic surface is still being transported.
Next week’s Rams game against Thermopolis, for now, is still scheduled for Big Horn, but that’s obviously dependent on the field getting there and getting installed.

It looks like the field will not be finished in time for the Thermopolis game because the turf has not made it to the school yet. Workers are finished with everything they can do without the actual turf itself.
Rams, thanks for filling us in on the progress. It looks like it will be an awesome field once it’s all done. Do you know, are there plans for a track up there, as well, or is it just the field? Just kind of curious about that.
I guess that, if nothing else, it won’t be too bad of a deal to break in the new field in the last week of the regular season and in the playoffs. That should be pretty cool. And Big Horn is having the type of season where a game, or maybe even two, on that new field in the playoffs is a definite possibility.
Thanks again!

Yes there is going to be a track around the field, but it will not be a full 8 lane track so no meets will be able to be held there. I am not exactly sure on the number of lanes but it will be enough for the big horn track team to practice there where as in the past they had to get on a bus and drive to NSI to practice.
After the “home” game this week against Thermop the rams have two away games before their final home game then playoffs. hopefully the field will be done before the final home game of the regular season which is senior night.
