Rawlins football coach Brian Anderson will no longer lead the Outlaw football team.

School board documents posted on the school district website made it unclear if Anderson resigned or was fired, but the document postings available here show the change was among several district-wide resignations or terminations approved by the Carbon County School District No. 1 board during its meeting Jan. 24. Anderson did not reply to an email sent last week seeking clarification, while Rawlins activities director Darlene O’Melia did not immediately reply to an email sent Tuesday by wyoming-football.com.

Anderson won just one game in three years as head coach in Rawlins and finished with an overall mark of 1-23. However, Rawlins did end its 35-game winless streak under Anderson in 2012 by beating Torrington 27-17.

A replacement has not yet been named.

Shoshoni football coach Rick Linblad has resigned after two seasons as head coach, the Riverton Ranger has reported.

Linblad took over a team that had lost 19 consecutive games and turned it into a contender, going 5-4 in 2011 and 6-3 last season. Both years, Shoshoni lost in the first round of the playoffs to Southeast.

Linblad stepped down to take a job out of the state, the Ranger reported.

Shoshoni is the seventh school in the state to have its coach resign or be fired. For a full list of coaching changes in the state this year, click here.

Two quick updates: I have fixed a score for the Burlington-Wind River game on Sept. 5, 1969. Wind River won the game 18-6; I had the score reversed, with Burlington winning.

A couple quick notes on this game: It was the first game for the Wind River program. I’m glad that I now can give the Cougars the credit they deserve for winning their first game out.

Also, the loss knocked the Huskies down to an 0-8-1 season in 1969. The Huskies also went winless in 1970 and lost a few to start 1971; their streak of 23 consecutive winless games (0-22-1) has been added to the streaks page.

I also updated Deaver-Frannie’s 1969 record; the Trojans went 3-5, not 4-4.

All other updates have been made on all the relevant pages.
