In short: Got ’em!

I finally tracked down the 1979 Class AA and Class A all-state teams today. They’re now posted on the all-state page for you to check out. Some familiar names on that list, that’s for sure…

In case you’re wondering, YES, I’m still short a few all-state teams. If you know where I might get my hands on the full list of all-state players for these years, let me know: 1997 Class 2A, 1995 Class 1A-Division II, 1994 Class 1A-9 man; 1984 Class 1A; 1982 Class A; 1973 Class A; 1972 Class A. I’m missing a bunch prior to 1971; check out the all-state page to see what’s missing.

Also, I’m trying to find out the teams for a couple players who didn’t have their schools listed on the original lists:

* Justin Dowler, 1987 Class 4A quarterback (Update: Dowler is from Laramie. Case closed.)

* Cory Doak, 1983 Class 4A defensive end (Update: Doak is from Rock Springs. Case closed.)

* John Easterbrook, 1979 Class AA punter (Update: Easterbrook is from Laramie. Case closed.)

* Smith, first name unavailable, 1972 Class AA defensive back

* Dennis Hankins, 1961 Class A guard.

In addition, I’m missing a first name from 1988, last name McCullough, a tight end for Rawlins. (Update: Brian is his first name. Case closed.)

If you can help, leave a comment below or e-mail me at pschmiedt@yahoo.com.

I’ve made two updates to the site recently.

One adds to my all-state project, as the teams from 1955-59 have been added. Click here to see those updates.

The second updates the correct dates of the Class A and Class B championship games from 1979; both games were played on Oct. 27 of that year. Those changes have been updated on all relevant pages.

I’ve added the bulk of the all-state teams from 1960-64. The only one I’m missing is the Class B-C all-state team from 1963. Otherwise, that time frame looks to be fairly complete. Check it out.

I also added coaches for Burlington, Jackson, Meeteetse and Douglas for 1998. Look at those individual team pages to see those updates.

I’ve made three quick updates today:

1. I added some all-state teams from 1965-70 to the all-state page. I couldn’t find very many, so what you see is what I have….

2. I’ve updated the Kelly Walsh-Rapid City (S.D.) Stevens game on Sept. 26, 1980, to reflect the right location. The game was in Casper, not Rapid City. Thanks to Frank to pointing out the error!

3. I found coaches for the 1995 season, and their names have been added on the team pages for Jackson, Newcastle and Hanna.

All-state teams from 1972, 1973, 1974, 1975, 1976 and 1977 have been added to the all-state page.

The 1972 and 1973 Class A all-state teams are MIA.

I also tried to find the all-state teams from 1971 but came up completely, utterly empty. I’m afraid that 1971 might be some kind of magical cut-off for all-state teams but that’s probably just my paranoia. So if you have one of those missing all-state Class A teams from ’72 or ’73, or anything from 1971, let me know.

I’ve added the bulk of the all-state football teams from 1978, 1979, 1980 and 1981 to the all-state page. I couldn’t find the Class AA and Class A all-state teams from 1979, though. The microfilm of the Star-Tribune I was using had several missing dates in late November, generally the time the all-state teams were/are released. I’ll continue the search….

Anyway, check it out. Lots of familiar names.

I’ve added the all-state teams from 1982, 1983 and 1984 to the all-state page. Not all of them are available — I’m still trying to track down the 1982 Class A and the 1984 Class 1A teams. If you have those available, let me know.
