The all-state teams for 1920 and 1921 have been added to the all-state listings. The 1920 all-state team was the first all-state team chosen in Wyoming. Definitely worth checking out.

The 1971 Class A all-state team I had posted on the all-state listings has been updated with what I think is a more accurate and comprehensive team. The team I used to have posted was selected by an AP panel; the team posted now is the team chosen by the Wyoming Coaches Association.
I try to post the WCA teams over any other teams when available, but I did not find a WCA team for this class and year until a former Torrington Trailblazer, Mike Mitchell, emailed me one a while back. Torrington was one of the best Class A teams in the state in 1971, going 9-0, but had no players chosen for first-team honors on the AP all-state team and only three second-team players. The WCA list is definitely more representative and more inclusive.

All-state listings from 1922 to 1945 have been added to the all-state listings. The all-state teams from this time are a bit of a hodgepodge because no coach, official or press organization consistently picked a team during this time. Sometimes, more than one team was chosen in a year. In cases where I found more than one team, I tried to list the team that was the most representative of all teams statewide.
First names, when available, have been used. Unfortunately, first names were rarely used in the sports section during this time.
For some years, I have yet to locate all-state listings, and I have yet to find any all-state listings prior to 1922. As always, if you can help me, email me the listings at pschmiedt@yahoo.com or post a comment below.

A couple quick updates:
Updates: Noted that the 2004 1A playoff game between Guernsey-Sunrise and Burlington was an overtime game.
Coaches Project: Added an update for Torrington.
All-state: Noted that Dennis Hankins, a member of the 1961 Class A all-state team, was from Torrington. Hankins’ school had not been listed previously.
(With Hankins’ addition, I now have just one unattached name on my all-state listings. It belongs to Smith, first name unavailable, 1972 Class AA defensive back. If you know who this is, e-mail me at pschmiedt@yahoo.com.)

Some updates and fixes from the past couple weeks:
Updates
Corrected the location of three Lyman games for 1990. The game on Aug. 31 with Cokeville was in Lyman, not Cokeville; the Sept. 14 game with Bear Lake, Idaho, was in Lyman, not Montpelier; and the Oct. 5 game with Greybull was at a neutral field in Lander, not in Greybull. I got suspicious of this season when I saw that Lyman had six consecutive road games to start the season… and that was obviously not the case.
Corrected Evanston’s opponent for its game on Sept. 28, 1990; the Red Devils played Morgan, Utah, NOT Logan, Utah.
Corrected the location for the Rocky Mountain-Wyoming Indian game in 1996 (it was in Byron, not Ethete).

All-state teams: Mad props to Wes Sibert from Mountain View for hooking me up with a complete list for the 1998 Class 2A all-state team. I’ve long suspected this list of being incomplete and this week Wes sent me the complete list. Several players were missing off my old list, including some from Buffalo and Lyman and all the selections from Glenrock and Mountain View. Thanks again, Wes!

All-conference teams and Super 25 awards announced (Casper Star-Tribune).
The folks over at wyopreps.com have posted this year’s all-state selections from the Wyoming Coaches Association. This year’s selections have also been added to my all-time all-state listings. I tried to catch all the misspellings, but if I missed one, let me know. Cool.

My recent run of success with the microfilm hasn’t been limited to just games. I’ve also added significantly to my all-state listings.
The Newcastle News Letter Journal came through with the 1997 Class 2A all-state team.
The 1982 Class A all-state team was kind of weird, as it was released by region and not as a whole. The Star Valley Independent ran the west side representatives and the Torrington Telegram ran the east side. Whatever; they’re together here, maybe for the first time ever.
I also came across the 1971 and 1972 Class A all-state teams in the Torrington Telegram.
The 1995 Class 1A Division II all-state team was the toughest of all the updates I put up. I had to piece it together from several sources, and it’s still not complete. I’m confident I have all the players from all the schools, but I don’t have the players’ names from Cokeville. So check out the listing and see of you can help me!
I’m still missing a few all-state teams, including the 1994 Class 1A nine-man team, the 1973 Class A team and the 1971 and 1970 Class AA and Class B teams. Oh, and a bunch from the 1960s. Darn hippies.
