Thanks to the listings posted on the Wyoming Shrine Bowl website, I have created an interactive database of Shrine Bowl players from 1974 to 2014. This database is searchable. For example, if you want to see a certain team, just type in the year and team into the search bar (e.g. searching 1985 South returns that team). Or search for a certain school to see all players selected from that school.

The database is available here.

A short update to note that I’ve fixed the coach listing for Worland’s 1957 season. The Warriors’ coach that season was Joe Kienlen, not Carl Selmer. Coach Selmer was an assistant at the University of Wyoming by this time, and Kienlen was Worland’s head coach for two seasons (1957 and 1958), not just one. Thanks to Worland alumnus Denis O’Mahoney for his help with this!

Zack Rosette’s 16-catch performance for Rock Springs in the Tigers’ 2010 season finale against Evanston has been added to the individual records page for Wyoming’s best single-game performance.

Rosette’s 16 catches were for 153 yards — short of the yardage top 10 but the state’s (unofficial) best single-game performance as far as number of catches.

Thanks to Tony Yerkovich for the help with this record!

As always, if you think you have a single-game or single-season performance that should be listed with those individual records, let me know: pschmiedt@yahoo.com.

A couple updates to the records available on the site:

Individual records: Added Kemmerer’s Steve Dover to the individual records page with his 2,124-yard rushing season in 1974. His season is second-best in state history, per available records. If you have updates you can contribute to the individual records listings, please do so! Follow the guidelines listed on that page.

Shrine Bowl records: I also updated the number of players selected to the Shrine Bowl from each school after diving more thoroughly into the Shrine Bowl player listings. The tallies for the following schools have been corrected: Gillette (118, not 115); Cheyenne Central (108, not 107); Laramie (106, not 105); Rock Springs (98, not 97); Evanston (93, not 92); Riverton (85, not 86); Green River (83, not 84); Buffalo (73, not 74); Worland (66, not 65); Lander (54, not 53); Glenrock (41, not 43); Mountain View (40, not 41); Big Horn (36, not 35); Pinedale (33, not 32); Tongue River (27, not 28).

A little bit of investigating turned up a pair of games that had somehow eluded me in previous research, and they’re both from Big Piney’s 1955 season:

Added Big Piney’s 86-14 victory against Mountain View on Sept. 30, 1955, in Mountain View.

Added Big Piney’s 45-0 victory against Lyman on Oct. 5, 1955, in Big Piney.

Both games have been updated on all relevant pages.

I also fixed the coach for Big Piney that season — it was Jerry Parker, not Robert Edwards.

The Mountain View game also reset Big Piney’s single-game scoring record and it tied the Punchers’ single-game margin of victory record. It also reset Mountain View’s most points allowed and largest margin of loss records for the school. It’s excusable; the loss to Big Piney was only Mountain View’s second game as a program.

Also, the state basketball tournament scores and all the other relevant info from 2015 has been added to the basketball record listings.

As always, if you have any updates for me, post a comment here!

A couple updates I uncovered while looking at the blurry pages available on e-yearbook.com:

Added Lovell’s 7-7 tie with Billings, Mont., Poly on Nov. 12, 1926.

Found Newcastle’s coach for 1925: Edward Hoel. This is my first update to the Coaches Project in a while… Let me know if there’s any info on the page you can help with!

All the updates have been made on all the relevant pages.

A fortuitous stumbling across some online resources allowed me to make these updates to the site:

Added Newcastle’s 64-0 loss to Edgemont, S.D., on Sept. 25, 1920. (This is Newcastle’s first game in program history.)

Found the score for Cheyenne Central’s 59-6 loss to Fort Collins on Nov. 16, 1907.

Corrected the score for Cheyenne Central’s 47-0 loss to Fort Collins Prep on Nov. 4, 1911. (I had listed 41-1 but I knew it was wrong.)

These changes have been reflected on all the relevant pages.

A few quick updates:

Found the score and corrected the date for Huntley’s 33-7 victory against Glenrock on Oct. 18, 1963.

Updated the 5A 2005 all-state list to include Jason Johnson, who was an all-state punter for Cheyenne East. Thanks Jason for catching that omission!

Updated the 1972 standings page to add the B Southwest standings, which I inadvertently left off.

All the updates have been made on all the relevant pages.
