A couple quick additions/corrections:

I added Douglas’ 20-0 victory over Lingle on Nov. 3, 1950, to the database. Thanks to Marven Weitzel for the addition!

I corrected the name of Wheatland’s Larry Woodcock in the honorable mention Class A all-state listings for 1962. Thanks to my dad for catching that one!

I have also updated the Shrine Bowl page to show records through this year’s game.

All the updates have been made on all the relevant pages.

With the publishing of the book “A Century of Fridays,” two errors have been brought to my attention. They’ve both been fixed on the website…

First, I incorrectly listed Bryan Fenwick of Cheyenne Central on the 2004 Class 5A all-state team. I had Fenwick listed twice, once with the Cheyenne Central listings as a tight end and again with Green River as a punter. Bryan actually played for Central and was first-team all-state at both the tight end and punter positions for the Indians. Thanks to Green River’s Erick Pauley for catching that one!

Second, I had an incorrect score listed for the Douglas-Riverton game listed for 1998. The score was 49-27 Riverton; I had listed 49-7 Riverton. Douglas’ Zack Andrews gets the credit for spotting that error. Thanks Zack!

All of the updates have been made on all the relevant web pages. As always, if you spot an error, please let me know, either here or via email at pschmiedt@yahoo.com.

Thanks to some help from former Laramie player Blake Newman, I recently added the Class AA all-state team for 1971. I appreciate the help, Blake!

The all-state listings I have are nearly complete back to 1920, but I can still use some help. If you have a team I am missing, please email it to me at pschmiedt@yahoo.com. I am still searching for the following teams:

1994, Class 1A 9-man
1970, Class AA and Class B
1969, Class B
1966, 1967, 1968, all classes
1965, Class A and Class B
1963, Class B
1958, all classes
1957, Class B
1949, 1950, 1951, 1952, 1953, 1954, all classes
1939, all classes
1936, all classes
1932, 1933, all classes
1929, all classes
1926, all classes

Two quick updates:

I noted that Lyman’s head coach from 1973 to 1975 was Rick Lambson, not Brad Jacobson as previously noted. Thanks to current Lyman coach Ted Holmstrom for the help!

I also noted the Oct. 11, 1999, between Lusk and Guernsey-Sunrise was an 85-0 Lusk victory, not 75-0. Thanks to Ryan Rapp and Cory Griffith for their help on this one!

The 2011 all-state teams have been added to the all-state listings.

Additionally, I made one small correction to the overall record for Shoshoni; the Wranglers’ all-time victory total is 256 and I had listed 252. The update has been made on all the relevant pages.

The 2011 season updates have been posted on all the relevant pages. The update includes 310 games; that bumps the total up for the site to 22,440.

Additionally, I have one small update to mention: a Coaches Project update for Superior.

A couple changes to the site that I need to share:

All-state teams: Two changes were made to the all-state listings. First, the 1975 team has been updated and changed. Formerly, the 1975 team I had listed was the UPI team, not the team from the Wyoming Coaches Association. I choose to list WCA teams when I have both available. I finally got my hands on the WCA list from 1975, thanks to Cheyenne East all-stater Kevin Lepore, and now the 1975 teams listed are the WCA teams. Thaks Kevin!

I also corrected a name on the 1998 Class 4A all-state team. John Rounds’ name has been fixed. Thanks to John for letting me know!

Coaches Project: Updates for Buffalo. Click here to see what I still need for the Coaches Project. Thanks to Buffalo AD Shad Spilski for the help!

With Tongue River dropping its 2011 season, several of the Eagles’ opponents have scheduled games in their place.

Glenrock, Burns and Wheatland have announced they will play sub-varsity squads from Natrona. Glenrock will host the Natrona team at 7 p.m. Friday (Sept. 9), Burns will host Natrona’s squad at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, Wheatland will play the Natrona JV at 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21 in Casper.

Newcastle will keep its Week 6 date it had originally scheduled with Tongue River as an open week.

Lyman, who was scheduled to open the season with Tongue River, played Ririe, Idaho, last Friday.

Moorcroft (week 3), Wright (week 5) and Big Horn (week 7) have yet to announce replacement games and/or open weeks in place of the Tongue River game. When those schools confirm their plans for those weeks, that information will be posted here.

You can always see the full 2011 schedule and results by clicking here.

I have repeated my standards on Zero Week contests numerous times on this site, but I feel it’s worth repeating once again what I count as a game and what I do not. For a contest to be counted as a game, and therefore be counted in the season records, it has to meet three criteria:

1. Four 12-minute quarters (planned) with normal timing and gameplay rules.

2. Officials are used.

3. Score is kept.

Even so, the criteria I use will occasionally be misinterpreted, and a game that should not be listed sneaks through. Looking back at some past Zero Week contests, I see that a couple of my listings did not meet the criteria for a game. Therefore, I am removing them from the listings and records of each team. In each case, these were games that I thought had followed the rules outlined above, but after a thorough examination of Zero Week games from the past several years, two games I have listed came up short of meeting all three criteria:

Douglas’ 42-0 victory over Star Valley on Aug. 29, 2009. This game did not have kick returns, as the ball was simply placed at a predetermined spot after each score. (Removal of this game will affect Douglas’ current win streak; the streak will be counted from 30 going forward.)

Natrona’s 35-0 victory over Laramie on Aug. 25, 2007. This game did not have punting, as the ball was moved a set distance down the field after a failed third down.

These two games have been removed from the records of the respective teams.

I also corrected the score for Wind River’s 30-6 victory over Basin on Oct. 22, 1976. (I had listed 30-0.) Thanks to Terry Davis for the catch!

The updates have been made on all the relevant pages.
